Neighborhood Networks

Neighborhood Networks Centers

The U.S Dept. of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) created Neighborhood Networks in 1995 "to encourage property owners to establish multi-service community learning centers in HUD insured and assisted properties." The Neighborhood Networks Centers we manage offer high-speed internet access, new computers, operating systems and software. The centers are free of charge and available to users of all skill-levels. A variety of classes, as well as tutoring, can be arranged according to a property's needs.

Neighborhood Networks Centers help:

  • Improve computer access
  • Advance literacy
  • Prepare residents to take advantage of employment opportunities
  • Provide access to healthcare information and other social services
  • Have fun, play games and keep the mind active
  • Provide access to email to keep in touch with friends and family all over the world
  • Encourage a sense of community and social interaction
  • Foster residents' interests and hobbies, such as the arts, music, history and health
  • Offer informational and recreational events to all residents

Service Coordination

Service Coordination

Yet another important facet of our properties is Service Coordination. An assigned Service Coordinator works in conjunction with the other management staff of the facility to educate residents on available services. Service Coordinators are a valuable asset to the residents and often times a vital link for residents to reach the services they need. Their responsibilities include, but are not limited to: outreach, problem solving, intervention, record keeping and referral.

Service Coordinators can help:

  • Assist and advise residents and families of the services which may be necessary to maintain a self-reliant lifestyle
  • Promote independence
  • Act as liason between community agencies, service providers and residents
  • Educate residents, families and staff on available community resources
  • Provide educational speakers and presentations for the benefit of all residents
  • Advance wellness and health
  • Encourage both informational and recreational
    activities
